More About Training
The training method used is Clicker Training. It involves no harsh training methods, no correction, no punishment or use of check chains. It is a hands-off method of training and the dogs are rewarded with food. If you attend a course you will be given a clicker and shown how it should be used on your first week. You will discover the best way to train your dog so that learn at their own pace.
The course covers basic obedience and the exercises include lead walking, front recall with a sit present, jumping up, sits, downs and stays. All these exercises are covered in depth.
Each handler is given detailed handouts for all the exercises covered on the course with step by step instructions of how each exercise is trained. You will also receive handouts on general and unwanted behaviours.Using the correct training equipment is very important. Suitable collars and leads are always available to purchase at the club.
